Another real estate agency hit with data breach
A data breach has happened for the second time in just two weeks.
This time an office of LJ Hooker was targeted, revealing the personal data of customer and employees including credit card information, passport and loan details.
It is unknown whether the two attacks were related, however LJ Hooker stated that all those affected were contacted within a few hours of the breach occurring.
Usually prospective renters and buyers are required to hand over personal information for due diligence, regardless of whether or not they get the property. This makes real estate agencies a perfect hub for hackers to target.
One option that has been suggested is to use something similar to a myGov ID, but there are discrepancies about information contained within myGov and what is required to put an offer in for purchase or tenancy. Until there is an alternative solution for sharing sensitive information the only other way is to tighten your agency’s cybersecurity.
MantisProperty has one of the most secure ecosystems for a CRM with multiple layers of protection beyond the standard for the industry and is the only real estate CRM to incorporate 2-factor authentication. It is currently the gold standard used by Google, Meta and Apple to stop unwanted login attempts and keep hackers at bay.
You can access all of MantisProperty’s features plus top-level security for just $245/month, giving you extra peace of mind.
Feature of the week: Property lifecycle management
Real estate requires a lot of planning and knowledge in order to maximise returns. It can be difficult to manage all the complex processes that stem from gathering data, scheduling appraisals, conducting research, etc., while still making intelligent decisions during the property lifecycle.
For this week’s feature of the week we wanted to highlight MantisProperty’s complete property lifecycle management. As you may already know, property lifecycle management involves the entire life of a property, from its purchase to its sale or disposal. But what many real estate agents don’t realise is the amount of data that is gathered to ensure that everything goes smoothly throughout each stage of ownership.
Instead of keeping records everywhere in multiple programs, MantisProperty allows you to keep all your data nice and secure in one easy place. Australian agencies can also connect to PriceFinder to pull in up to date information about any property. Using MantisProperty as a central hub for information allows you to leverage more information with greater efficiency.
